Western Infrastructure Updates

Western’s comprehensive report of Capital Improvement and Facilities Plan (CIFP) sets immediate capital priorities for the two-year period, while forecasting project needs over a five-year span.

Western recognizes the ever-changing environment of water reliability. To confront modern challenges and continue delivering safe, reliable, high-quality services, Western is committed to cost-effective and innovative solutions to ensure long-term water supply for our region. Studying and understanding drought conditions, advanced preparation for natural disasters, and anticipating fluctuating demands helped to create this well-rounded plan. The capital projects listed within will create, maintain, and improve the systems that serve customers.

Current Projects

The District operates 117 pumps with a total horsepower of 17,650. The system encompasses nearly 600 miles of pipeline, ranging in diameter from 4 to 60 inches. The 35 water storage reservoirs have a capacity of roughly 76 million gallons. The largest is the Orangecrest Reservoir, which can store up to 12.5 million gallons of water.

Public Use of District Facilities

Western Water designates specific facilities to be available for use by local government agencies and non-profit organizations.
