Lois B. Krieger Water Project Grants for Educators

Supporting teachers. Inspiring youth.

Supporting our community and encouraging water education for its youngest residents are priorities for Western Water. Since 1995, we have reinforced this commitment by offering educators in western Riverside County grant opportunities to bring water-education projects to their classrooms. The Lois B. Krieger Water Project Grants for Educators (Krieger Grant) program helps fund creative and engaging classroom projects that further a better understanding of water and the vital role it plays in our lives. The Krieger Grant program continues to have a wide impact on students and educators in Western Water's service area.

Teachers in public and private K-12 schools throughout Western Water’s general service area are eligible to apply. See a list of qualifying public schools here. For private school eligibility, email education@wmwd.com.

Through the Krieger Grant program, teachers, students, and their families become actively engaged in educational, water-related classroom projects. Funding can be used for virtual or in-person water education. Krieger Grants are awarded in various amounts and recipients can be awarded up to $1,000* for water-related classroom projects.

The Krieger Grant program is offered in honor of Lois B. Krieger, who served as the first female President of the Association of California Water Agencies and Western Water’s representative to The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Board of Directors for 25 years.

The 2023-2024 grant cycle is CLOSED.

Applications are being reviewed. Check back soon for more updates.
